What is a Pondless® Waterfall?

A Pondless® Waterfall is a low maintenance alternative to a pond that focuses on streams and waterfalls. We can build these as short as 5′, and as long as the imagination allows. With careful rock placement we are able to recreate babbling brooks, or cascading falls. Waterfalls are a great way to still get the benefits of relaxation from the sight and sound of water, without the investment in maintenance that comes with owning and caring for a pond. These can be great focal points in both your back, or front entryway. These can be designed to have pooling areas, or even without any standing water if small children are a concern. Combine a waterfall with a fountain feature for maximum impact, the potential in limitless!

How a Pondless® Waterfall Works

A Pondless waterfall consists of a EPDM lined watercourse, with carefully crafted falls and streams. We use local granite and gravel to recreate falls you would come across in nature. The systems name comes from the lack of a pond that recirculates the water. In a Pondless® we create a underground reservoir comprised of Aquablox®, and a pump vault. We disguise all of these mechanical components with rock work and plantings. Water is circulated to the top of the fall via a pump. Unlike a pond where running a pump is necessary for filtering and oxygenating water to support fish, a pondless can be safely shut off to conserve electricity when not being used.
